I'm not an English major, but...

I was reading this article, and the last sentence reads:

Gore, who's work on climate change earned him a Nobel Prize, he is popular among Democrats.

This is a story by the Associated Press. Don't they have grammar classes in journalism school anymore?

This sentence starts off, "Gore, who is work on climate change..." Really? Gore is work on climate change? And if you take out the prepositional phrase the sentence reads: "Gore, he is popular among Democrats." Boy howdy, he sure 'nuff is.
